FO Coupling Splice Closure

Range of application:

It concerns about a pure mechanical cable closure (distribution closure). The closure consists of 2 largely symetric pieces of half-shells, wich represents the body of the closure. The upper half-shell contains a lenghts- wise sealing made of expanded rubber.

The mushroom-shaped design of this sealing has been developed especially.
Due to the pressing between the two half-shells absolutely water tightness is guaranteed.

The upper and lower part are bolted together with stainless screws and nuts. The nuts are fixed in the lower half-shell. A strain relief is provided at each cable entry in the lower half of the closure.

The entry boots are made of EPDM rubber and are conical, so a wide range of cable diameters is covered. The boots are cut to around the half of their diameter in the area of the cable entries.

After splicing both half-shells are screwed together. Then the cable entry boots have to be putted back over the closure entries, and after- wards fixed with stainless hose clamps.
